DMCA Takedown Notice - FileLegit

FileLegit respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, FileLegit provides the following procedure for submitting a copyright infringement notice.
1. Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you believe that any content available on FileLegit violates your copyright, you may submit a written notice containing the following information:
- Your Contact Information
- Full legal name
- Address
- Telephone number
- Email address
- Identification of the Copyrighted Work
- A clear description of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed.
- If multiple works are claimed, list each work separately.
- Identification of the Infringing Material
- Provide the URL(s) of the allegedly infringing material on FileLegit.
- Include sufficient information to allow us to locate the content.
- Statement of Good Faith Belief
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- Statement of Accuracy and Authority
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
- Electronic or Physical Signature
- Your physical or electronic signature (typed name is acceptable for email submission).
2. Where to Send Your DMCA Notice
You can submit your DMCA Takedown Notice to FileLegit’s designated Copyright Agent:

Please note: Only proper DMCA notices submitted to the designated agent will be considered.
3. Counter-Notification Procedure
If you believe your content was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may file a Counter-Notification including:
- Your contact information (name, address, phone, email)
- Identification of the removed material and its original location
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed due to mistake or misidentification
- Consent to jurisdiction of your local federal court, or where applicable
- Your physical or electronic signature
Upon receiving a valid counter-notification, FileLegit will forward it to the claimant. The content may be restored within 10–14 business days unless the claimant files a lawsuit seeking a court order to restrain you from engaging in infringing activity.
4. Repeat Infringer Policy
FileLegit has a zero-tolerance policy for repeat copyright infringers. Users who are found to repeatedly upload or share infringing content may have their accounts suspended or terminated.
5. Important Notes
- FileLegit does not review or pre-approve user-uploaded content.
- FileLegit may remove content without prior notice if it appears to infringe copyright.
- Filing a DMCA notice falsely or maliciously may expose you to legal liability.
